Piotr Barsony
Piotr Barsony, a French artist born in Toulouse in 1948, is a multi-faceted creator known for his work as a painter, visual artist, illustrator, and cartoonist. After studying at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Barsony became captivated by "the lights produced by television screens." His artistic influences span art history, from Michelangelo to Anish Kapoor, Basquait, and Moebius.
Describing Barsony's diverse artistic practice is challenging. He utilizes materials such as paper, cloth, and rhodoid to showcase his vibrant colors and ethereal lighting effects.
Beyond painting, Barsony has pursued careers as a cartoonist, illustrator, songwriter, and author. He co-wrote the script for the film "Visiblement je vous aime," which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 1995. Additionally, he has written lyrics and scripts for video clips for French singer Arthur H and screenplays for TV short films. Notably, he created a comic for Thierry Mugler's perfumes.
Barsony's work has been exhibited at prominent venues such as Artcurial, the Nadine Nieszawer gallery, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP), and the Pompidou Centre.
