Alexis Manheim
Alexis was born in 1975 in Los Angeles, California, and currently resides near San Francisco, California. Her artwork, which consists of Contemporary Abstracts, employs soft pastels and ink on paper. In 1997, she graduated from Stanford University with BAs in both Studio Art and International Relations. Post-graduation, she co-founded and managed Madcapp Studios, an artist studio collective and event space based in San Francisco, where she maintained her studio until 2004. Jazz and blues music, along with "circles, alchemy, carnivorous plants, and raw pigments," significantly influence her work. Alexis also produces many of the pastels she uses for her paintings in her studio. Her artwork is featured in various private collections from San Francisco to Stockholm.
